URS/SWL Patient Reported Outcomes (PROs)
Optimizing patient recovery after kidney stone surgery
What is the ROCKS Patient Reported Outcomes initiative?
The ROCKS Patient Reported Outcomes (PRO) initiative aims to improve quality of care for kidney stone patients, particularly those undergoing surgery including ureteroscopy (URS) or shockwave lithotripsy (SWL).
Patients who have URS or SWL as treatment for their kidney stone(s) are asked to complete a questionnaire before and after surgery. The information collected may also help to improve recovery and outcomes for future kidney stone patients undergoing URS or SWL.
What we do?
- Electronically distribute surveys to collect PRO data just prior to surgery (baseline), 7-10 days, and 4-6 weeks following surgery.
- Assess patient-reported pain intensity, pain interference, urinary symptoms, and overall satisfaction.
